Pure water has become a necessity. Thanks to the technology that it is fulfilling this necessity in a variety of ways, by introducing the world to the water filters. Some bring the filtered water to the whole house, while others fetch the pure water from just one dedicated faucet. And also, some that offer just some cups of pure water, as per the need.
The zero water filters are a range of filters that comes into a variety of portable products like the pitcher, bottle, tumbler, etc. These water filters have different capacities to handle the contaminants. Does Zero water filter remove Flouride from the water?
Like chlorine, the Flouride is also added to the mainline water, if the concentration is less than required.
According to the claim done by the manufacturers, the zero-water filter removes mercury and chromium, etc. But it has the ultra five-stage filtration technology that absorbs all the sediments and impurities. So, it can absorb the normal concentration of fluoride. But not in the high concentration. The product claims to filter 0.2-0.4 fluoride removal.
If you are looking for complete fluoride removal, you need a reverse osmosis plant. But the RO plant will even remove the useful minerals and salts from the water.
Some short facts about fluoride:
- Fluoride is a derivative of fluorine. Florine is a naturally occurring element that is found in soil, water, and foods.
- The mainline water supply is added with fluoride when the concentration of fluoride is less than enough in the water.
- The addition of fluoride in water, up to standard concentration, prevents the tooth decays.
- Too much fluoride can also result in severe issues like dental fluorosis or skeletal fluorosis. This damages both the joints and bones.
How is excessive exposure to fluoride dangerous?
Anything more than required becomes harmful. The same is the case with Flouride. The excess exposure to a high concentration of fluoride leads to these diseases:
High Concentration exposure to fluoride, during the developing age of children, is harmful. When the teeth are developing, it can generate mild fluorosis, but over time, if it is left unnoticed. It creates issues later.
Excessive exposure to high concentration fluoride can also cause skeletal fluorosis. This results in pain and damage to bones and joints. The bones become hard and sometimes more elastic. It gives an increased chance of fractures. Or else, the high bone tissue accumulation can create joint immobility issues.
It is reported that excessive exposure can damage the parathyroid gland. This can create
hyperthyroidism, which results in the uncontrolled secretion of parathyroid hormones.
